Capital Subaru - Engine Servicing
Engine replacement is very expensive, so regular inspection and maintenance are critical. In fact, engine longevity usually comes down to how often and how well your engine is maintained.
Signs that your vehicle's engine needs to be serviced or repaired
- - Your engine feels like it has diminished power
- - Your vehicle is experiencing frequent stalling
- - Your vehicle is not running smoothly
- - The engine is misfiring
- - You are having difficulties starting the vehicle
- - Your vehicle idles roughly
- - Your vehicle's gas mileage is diminishing
The “Check Engine” light can turn on for a variety of reasons, some of them minor, while others can present major problems if left unchecked. Capital Subaru will investigate the issue and ensure you leave with a vehicle that’s running as good as new.
Regular engine maintenance will lengthen the life of the engine, its related components, and the vehicle itself. It will also save you money as proper engine maintenance will reduce the frequency and cost of repairs. It’s best to pay a little for regular maintenance than to get stuck with a large repair bill down the road.
At Capital Subaru, we’ll check your engine, as well as the wiring, air, oil, and fuel filters and spark plugs to ensure there is no unnecessary wear or loose connections. We’ll also do an engine inspection to make sure there are no leaks, worn parts or other issues. Our inspections and tune-ups are comprehensive and performed by qualified mechanics.
Engine Repair FAQs
My check engine was flashing, but not anymore. Should I still have it looked at?
Just because your check engine light isn’t flashing anymore doesn’t mean the problem has gone away. Immediate engine service is recommended.
Is there such a thing as a quick fix to the check engine light?
Yes! Maybe your gas gap is off or loose – this would most likely turn on the check engine light. Simply pull over and put the gas cap back on or tighten it. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, your vehicle likely needs to be serviced.
Will my car be damaged if I keep driving with a check engine light?
You should get this checked out as soon as possible if the check engine light is yellow, it means it isn’t running at max efficiency. A red light means there’s an issue and you need to get to a service station right away. If the light is flashing, you need to bring it in for service right away.
My car was just serviced and now the check engine light is still on.
Bring it back to us and we will have a look and make sure the problem truly was resolved when you brought it in the first time. We may just need to use a scan tool to clear the code.
